Good Morning.....Happy Tuesday!!

Good Morning to you all.....I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful start to your Tuesday!
I enjoyed a wonderful Monday full of a day spent in my ARTHaven doing just as I saw fit.....I had so much fun creating my Mixed Media canvas I shared yesterday that I wanted to work up more supplies to have on hand for my next projects.......
I have been enjoying working with polymer clay as of late.....more so over air dry porcelain clay or air dry paper clay.......so I used the polymer clay to make several shapes with molds I have so I can use on future projects...it can be so addicting making the shapes.....I just ohhh and ahhh everytime I remove a shape from a mold..LOL Like a kid in a candy store.....
Once I had satisified myself with that for the day I decided I wanted to make some flowers to have on hand.....I quickly was reminded just the intense passion I have for making flowers....they are so beautiful....and make such an impact on a piece you create.....
Yesterday I worked on some of my handmade roses in 1 1/2" sizes......did them in 4 different colors.....2 shades of red.....pink...and an off white......just a cool note....for the off white ones...I started with white cardstock....and cut the petals out....then took them and dropped them to soak in some cold coffee so the cardstock would be coffee stained.....I LOVE the color I ended up with.....will be making more in this color for sure....and better then just dumping the coffee down the drain...right? ;) Wanna see how they turned out???
Another flower I have become obsessed with as of late is the Dogwood Flower.....they are just so delicate looking and pretty.....that is also one of my favorite trees......so I decided to make up several of these in both white and pink.....these are sized about 1 to 1 1/2" in size...to me just the perfect size for most any project.....

Don't you think these are delicate looking???
Now to decide what I'm going to create today....I am on vacation this week and trying my hardest to make the most of it....it's been a while since I've felt this motivated to create so I don't want to miss a minute of it....Think I'm headed off to see what other flowers I want to work on for a bit!
I want to Thank You so much for taking a bit of time out of your day to drop by and visit with me......it truly touches my heart when I hear from you.....cause it reminds me we're all here to support one another.....I would like to wish you all a very Blessed Day and hope you'll stop by to visit with me again....Until next time....

WOW....Almost 6 months......

Hello Everyone.....I hope this post finds you all doing well this evening...I can not believe it's been almost 6 months since my last post.....For those of you who do choose to touch base from time to time I thank you......
I am FINALLY beginning to feel my old self again....seems they have FINALLY found one of the many issues of my health problems is.....the doctors and I are working together to get me back to a point where I have the passion to create again....and it feels good to have those spurts of time.....I'm learning to take it as it comes and be happy!!!
Thru the last 6 months I have created things that I thought I would share with you here....to get me caught up.......then share with you a very special piece I created today that I am so very proud of and have it hanging in my home....
But first....here's some pieces I've created over the past couple of months for swaps I've been involved in with my Yahoo group...
This one was for a Door Hanger Swap....

This was for an Easter Swap.....

This was for an Easter Egg Swap.....

This was for a Happy Birthday Tag Swap....

These were for a One Sheet Wonder Swap.....this one was alot of fun and challenging!!! ;)

Then we had a very special swap....it was an Altered Letter Swap for a person in our group....I had the letter D for a very sweet special lady whom I love so dearly.....

The next cards are some I created just to create as I wanted to make something to have to use to send out......I enjoyed making them and can so see making more of these in the future....

This one was a Pop Out Card and such a wonderful impact....I loved making it and will definitely make more in the future.....

These are the Resist Technique and so very very pretty...love the soft affect of how these turned out.....and I can say I've used most of these up already.....

So NOW that I have all these shared of these I've created over the last 6 months...I'm EXCITED to share this next piece with you.....I have loved Mixed Media for decades.....have done some in the past but it's been a while for sure......I love the look of Finnabair's ART and it has been inspiring me more and more over the past several months.....so I finally decided to create a piece I've been wanting to work on for a while.....took the plunge this weekend to give it a go....and am beyond thrilled with my end results....
I started out with a white 11"x14" canvas......gessoed it.....used some lace, stenciling, modeling paste and trinkets to it.....then began adding many layers of dimensions.....I didn't take pics all through the stages but I did take a couple of when I first started adding my colors and multiple layers.....
This shows the beginning stages of color and some of the items I had added to the canvas.....the words I cut using my Brother Scan N Cut through Canvas using very thick cardstock layered 4 thick...which gives a wonderful dimension....
The cross you see on this piece I created using a toilet paper roll.......
After adding more pieces and more color I took yet another pictures to show how it looked a bit further down the road.....
Along with using Finnabair's sprays I also used alot of Tattered Angels sprays and some Rust-Oleum Metallic Paints that I found at Menard's the other day.....I was having ALOT of fun!!
So....after many, many...MANY more layers of sprays....metallics....embellishments I have completed this piece and I must admit I am beyond thrilled with this piece....can't wait for you to see it!!!

I can't express how much I LOVE how this turned out.....I can't wait to begin on another.....I would LOVE to hear what you think of this one?????
SO SORRY this was such a LONG POST!!! Sure hope you made it to the end......If you did...THANKS SO MUCH!!! And thank you again for stopping by to visit with me....I hope you'll check back again soon as I plan on getting back to a more routine habit of posting AND creating!!!!  It's been WAY TO LONG!!!
I would like to wish you all a VERY blessed week again...Stay safe, happy and healthy...and SAVED!!!

Until next time...

Happy 2017.....a New Direction for a New Year!!

Hello Everyone...I pray this new year finds you all well and happy!!!  I'm very happy and excited to see our new president taking office in just a few short days!!!! ;)

The past 3 years have been filled with alot of health challenges for my husband and I.....and Praise the Lord we've come through them and the Lord has blessed us in healing and we are able to be here with our children and grandchildren...for that I am so thankful.....

Having gone through all of this it has made me really take some time to stop and think about what is truly so very important to me......and that is my faith...my family.....,my close friends and my art....and there are so many things I have wanted to do for me and my family in regards to art that I've always not done because I wanted to be always relevant online....I know...crazy right!!  I'm finally making a tough decision...but one I've come to peace with after praying about it....talking with family and my precious close friends....

I am no longer going to be sharing cutting files......nor doing video tutorials....When I do those I lose so much time for me that it has become a source of stress that triggers my migraines and I have to do something to stop those....it has caused me many health issues that I must get under control....

I will be keeping my blog as a form as an online diary for my projects I will be creating for my family and friends and sharing my love of the Lord......a way to document my history of ART and things I create.....I want to thank you for the years and years of support for coming by and visiting my blog....I would love for you to continue to visit to view what I've created even though I will no longer be sharing files and videos....but if you choose to move on I understand.....

This year I'm determined to take more time for ME......I want my passion for ART to come back full force....It's been on hiatus far to long!!!  I plan on visiting more blogs and watching many more videos and FINALLY Scrapbooking my boys and my grandchildren's lives....I've only created one Scrapbook in my life and it was for my boss years ago.....and I have finally gotten the desire to create them for my family......and I'm truly looking forward to this adventure....I'll share pages as I complete them.....so hopefully you stop by to visit with me!!! ;)

Again...Thank you so much for your years and years of support and warm loving comments....I pray I don't lose your interest over a decision I am making for me......and I would like to wish you all a very Blessed and Happy New Year ahead!!!  May you enjoy a year of health, prosperity and happiness!!

Happy Monday Everyone....

Good Morning Good Morning to you all!!! I hope you were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend!!! I know I certainly did!!!  Though my heart does break for all of the sad SAD protests that are going on in Charlotte, NC...prayers go out to that part of our America!!!  And also for those that were viciously attacked!!

I do not watch the news on the weekends....I keep my ARTHaven peaceful and enjoyable tuning out the outside world and all of the insanity!!!  Doing that allows me to be creative!! Having said that I just wanted to share with you a FUN card I created this weekend.....I think it turned out adorable......

Over in the Yahoo Group I have...... "The Creative Corner" we are having an Autumn Swap.....creating a card/envie set that makes you think of Autumn.....I have to say I do believe this is my favorite time of the year.....You can feel the beginning of briskness in the air...the leaves changing and the cool mornings....breezy afternoons and the perfect time to have windows open and hear the birds chirping!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SO serene!!! Sorry...got distracted dreaming!!! ;)

Back to the swap Penny.... LOL  So here's the card I came up with.....using one of my pumpkin files, & my acorn file I've shared years ago.....and then I used a tag file and then created the phrase......cut all using my Brother ScanNCut 2......I just can't say it enough....I absolutely am loving this machine!!  It does such a beautiful job on cuts and does a very nice job using the deep cut blade and holder cutting .030 chipboard......

Didn't it turn out so super cute!!! As you can see I've manipulated  the pumpkin file a bit to give me different sizes and shapes......and I distressed the edges of the layers with Gathered Twigs distress ink on the orange pumpkins and Rusty Hinge on the black pumpkin.....for the leaves I used decorative colored papers then distressed them more by crumpling them up and then color with spritzers......and dried....I think it gives them more of an authentic look of leaves.....

I did back the pumpkins and the sign with chipboard layers to give more substance to the pieces and also did the same to the Background layer......then ran through my Ebosser with the chicken wire embossing sleeve...distressed the debossing and then colored with Rusty Hinge.......then colored the edges with some more of the Rusty Hinge after I distressed with my electric distressing tool by Zutter.

I had alot of fun making this card......it's going postal to it's recipient today....sure hope she likes it!!

Ok.....I also wanted to share with you all that I am slowing getting my ETSY store back up and running again.....working on pieces to add to it does indeed take time.......But if any of you are in the look out for jewelry or embroidery projects, embroidery files, new cutting files I would love for you to hope over to my store and see if anything interests you.....

One thing I did want to remind everyone....last year you may remember me sharing I made custom stockings for each member of my family.....they were a HUGE HUGE hit.....here's a reminder.....

Well....I got a NEW embroidery machine this past week......as the other one is not serviceable any longer and I was having alot of struggles with it embroidering...... ;(  Am still able to use it to sew so it will still get used and loved....but with my new machine I am once again able to create pieces I love doing......

So....I've decided that I'm going to offer to make custom Christmas Stockings......and have listed that ability in my ETSY store.....so...if this is something you're interested in...I would love to hear from you.....OR....if you have something else you would like to have embridered.....please send me an email and let's discuss it....I am able to create any file from the vision you have......my email addy is nanapduncan@gmail.com

As I get older and wanting to eventually retire from the working world I would love to be able to put my focus more and more on my passion of creating and felt this would be a great transition for me!!! I have gotten back into Social Media more to help promote myself so if any of you are interested I would LOVE for you to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Tumblr.

Okie Dokie Artichokie!!! That catches me up for the day!!! I want to THANK YOU all SO very much for stopping by and visiting with me!!! Hope you enjoyed the fun card I created...would LOVE to hear from you....and I do hope you will stop by and visit with me again soon.....I wish you all a very Blessed week ahead....Until next time!!
